Technical difficulties!

I met a ton of great folks this weekend, handed out a ton of my business cards, only to have my phone be KAPUT today.  YIKES!

I will be without a phone until this coming Friday, the 30th.  If you would like to reach me for a booking or for my rates, please email me at allisonfacepainting@gmail.com and I will be sure to get back to you within 24 hours.

Thanks again for thinking of me for your event, and I apologize for the inconvenience.  I look forward to speaking to you soon!

Worldfest 2012

I was very honored to be asked to take part in Worldfest this year, in the “Kids Kingdom” section.  I had a great time, and I think all the kids that came to see me did too! Here is just a sampling of the wonderful faces I got to paint last month!

Thank you, Worldfest 2012!

Thank you to all of you who came to my table at Worldfest. I had an incredible time meeting all of you, and I hope our paths cross soon (that is, after all, what this site is for!)

I took a ton of GREAT pictures at the event yesterday, and will be posting them soon.

Mockingjay

In anticipation/excitement for the midnight screening of “Hunger Games”, I did this Mockingjay design on a friend’s cheek!

New business cards and Worldfest 2012

Since my attempt at networking and advertising prior to this has been primarily word of mouth, I’m excited about what opportunities might arise from this site as well as the new business cards I just had made!

I will be at Worldfest this Sunday, May 20th in the Kids Kingdom section from Noon to 3 pm, and I will be handing out my business cards then.  It’s a great event, which I always enjoy attending, and I look forward to seeing how many kids come to my table!

(p.s. Yes, that painting on the card was done by me a couple years ago :)  It’s silly and whimsical enough that I hope it will appeal to many people and give them a sense of who I am.  If nothing else, it’s bound to stick in their mind a bit!)

Early face painting work

This is some stuff I did when I first got started doing face painting. (the paints I use now are more matte than the shimmery ones shown here, but I do have glittery, shiny ones as well that I use as accents on a regular basis.)

Welcome!

This site is currently under construction, as I am gathering pictures to post of my face painting work.

A little bit about myself: I work in the greater Los Angeles area, and have been doing professional face painting for almost 3 years.  I started doing side jobs through a wonderful full service children’s entertainment company based out of Upland called The Compassionate Clown Company, which has clowns, characters, balloon art and much more (and who I highly recommend for any of your full party needs!).  I found that being an aspiring artist and designer led to me really enjoying doing specifically face painting, and it was also what I was best at out of all the other party skills.  I am pretty flexible with location, as well as face painting requests, with what the kids want me to paint.  I also am great working with all different ages (even adults!)

As far as my choices, I usually just ask what they want and go from there!  It keeps me on my toes, and keeps everyone happy and feeling special! (Note: If I am pressed for time and the event has a great number of attendants, only then will I sometimes limit the choices to a specific design board, so that I can make sure I get to everyone and no one is left out)

Please check back soon as there will be new posts very soon.  In the meantime, if you would like to see some of my artwork, please visit allisonjessica.deviantart.com.  However, keep in mind that my facepainting is done in a fairly different style :)

I hope to hear from you and see your (soon to be painted!) faces soon!  :D
